A new element since 2009 is appear on the soldier helmet. A new kind of NVG mount for a new NVG. The PSQ-20 is a night vision goggles with combine night vision and thermal vision, in the same size of the pvs-14. But to be used it must be mounted in a new rhino arm. The PSQ-20 mount is composed of a mount, a arm and a battery pack.
The mount is in 2 parts, the front where you can fix the arm and back where the LPBP is connected to powered the NVG (both are link by a wire which passed inside the helmet shell)
The font look like the PGAST mount with a one hole screw, and the LPBP mount is fixed with 2 screws of the chin strap.
The arm clamp has pin for the NVG power (on the back arm too) to be connected to the mount. The LPBP (Low Profil Battery Pack) as pin too for the background mount.
The LPBP could be disconnected from the mount in pulling the black knob on the top.The front knob is used to open the front panel and access to the batteries. 4 AA
